Not long ago you gave me roses
And brought me to the Western throne
I've served the land with grace and beauty
The time has come to return home
CH: Red roses, the gift you've given
And one I'll cherish every day
To you I give my thanks eternal
And hope my service has repaid
The silver crown, the first of kingdoms
The rising sun, the greatest land
I cannot say how great this treasure
You gifted me when you took my hand

The day has come to leave this service
But ever shall these memories stay
With all my heart I thank you, champion
For roses red on that October day
