Thorfynn and Etaine

by
Oisin mac Uislenn
Beltane Coronation, May 4, AS XLVIII (2013)

Prepare for the reign of Thorfynn the Cruel
A Savage warrior most full of fight
The victor in an epic duel
Western King by sword and might

Though shorn of his mighty mane
He suffered not from Sampson’s fate
Still as strong as the fiercest Dane
Standing strong in regal state

Inspired by a gracious lady
A beautiful forbidden fruit to some
The lovely Etaine du Pommier
A calming influence upon the cruel one

Strength, service and art at their best
Our King and our Queen of the West

Side note, Thorfinn is the correct spelling of His Majesty's name, and Étaín is that of Her Majesty, but I should be correcting the Bard? (You know what they say about getting on the bad side of a Bard, after all ...) -- Hirsch
