Bardic Arts

For Kaaren and Uther
by
Leah Raedaelf of Pagham, Bard of the West
For Their Royal Highnesses,
Saturday evening court of March Crown
March 13, A.S. XXXVIII

King You have stood, proud before Your people
Again now, the ships call You forth to serve.
Always the warrior, Your sword shall defend us all.
Ready is the horn for us to fill—
Each “wassail” we raise to praise this day.
Near to Your heart, Your inspiration stands—
Acclaim You have won for Your lady.
Noble Princess, stalwart friend in dark times,
Draw nigh to claim Your reward.
Usual cares shall no longer fill Your days,
The strength of the West awaits Your call.
Honest counsel, gentle guidance, consort’s strength.
Endless joy You bring Your champion—
Receive now Your due.
