The An Tir Lion
by
Leah Raedaelf of Pagham
Written for West/An Tir War, A.S. 38

King Alden called upon His knights to gather their war bands,
For danger lurked to threaten those who live within His lands.
To guard our home and all its folk we came prepared to fight;
Our cause is just, we’ve had a sign from Angels clad in white.

(Refrain) Good people of the Marches,
You have no more to fear.
For Alden now has slain the beast
That roamed throughout An Tir.

Long miles we marched across our lands ‘midst fields of green and gold,
We forded icy mountain streams few men e’er behold.
We forged our way on past the lake that spread to block our way
To join our King in battle upon this glorious day.

(Refrain)

We tracked the beast of legend across these northern lands,
For in his home, where he was strong, we’d drop him where he’d stand.
We chased him through the brambles, the thicket that’s his home,
And from his bed of briars he never more shall roam.

(Refrain)
