The Waterbearer Song

Jana the Mad
May, A.S. XXXVII (2002)

I went to war, for I was called
My kingdom’s freedom to uphold.
And then I found a person there
Worth their weight in Spanish gold

Bearer of water or Gatorade
Bearer of cookies and pickles and shade
Overlooked often this service and art
You saved my life, now you’re bearing my heart

I did not know why you don’t go
To battle, bash rage and destroy
But still you’re here to make men fear
And bring Chirurgeons loads of joy

You walk around with watery sound
And always make the fighter yield
He knows he should, because you could
Pull him off the tourney field
