Coronation Piece For Jade and Megan

Ivone Pons Leyr
May, AS XXXVII (2002)

Uther, King most mighty, a tournament decreed
Open to all fighters of noble word and deed
Out upon the tourney field stood stout and noble men
The last to stand were Greyhelm’s squires, Sirs Jade and Veniamin

Joyful comes the sun again, and long awaited Spring
Joyful praise we lift in song, Today we crown our King

Uther spoke and placed the laurel wreath upon Jade’s brow
‘Right glad I am to see my Knight as my successor now’
Jade then spoke and place a crown of rose on Megan’s hair
‘Your inspiration touched my heart, my joy with you I’ll share’

Joyful comes the spring again, all clad in gold and green
Joyful praise we lift in song, today we crown our Queen

Joyful comes Beltane again, the world is new and clean
Joyful praise we lift in song for our new King and Queen
