Beltane, AS XXXVI (May, 2001)

War is their drink
Armored they flood the fields
Their deeds ebb and flow
Ever at the King's command
Resolute chivalry - waterbearer's friend

Always in the shadows, always moving
Invisible, yet strong
Restless pelicans take to the air again.

Forever hungry to create
Inspired, their passion burns
Reaching ever higher, ever deeper
Exquisite artistry, the laurel's fire.

Ever gracious, ever just
A solid noble strength
Roots of our past
The rock on which we all have stood
Honored Royal Peers - the earthbed of our future harvests.

Water, air, fire, earth
Elements of Earth and Man
Shining stars, the peers of the west
This poem sings your praises

"Poem on the four elements created for the Bard of the West theme competition.)" -- Ivone Pons Leyr
