Battle's Nigh
by
Elsa Saxenkammer
(AS XXXVII)

Battle's nigh

Beat the drum and sound the horn, raise your banners to the sky
Morning breaks and swords are drawn, pulses race as battle's nigh

Warriors gather, heed the cry
Rally to your prince's side
Fair Mistland you shall defend
Sally forth and onward ride.

Through the swirling morning fog
Shines the sun in glory bright
Warms our faces and our blood
Spreads her glory to our fight

Beat the drum and sound the horn, raise your banners to the sky
Morning breaks and swords are drawn, pulses race as battle's nigh

For our princess and our prince
For the land you hold so dear
Drive the foul encroachers back
Teach them what it means to fear

Land from which this all was born
Land of dreams that all come true
Go ye now to do her proud
March ye forth in Misty blue

Beat the drum and sound the horn, raise your banners to the sky
Morning breaks and swords are drawn, pulses race as battle's nigh

Black swan come and try your luck
Soon enough you'll come to see
The folly of your warring ways
The fair mist fights to win her peace

Ours the artists and the bards
Ours the history and the tales
Ours the might to keep them safe
Yours the right to try and fail.

Beat the drum and sound the horn, raise your banners to the sky
Morning breaks and swords are drawn, pulses race as battle's nigh...
Pulses race as battle's nigh!
