I have travelled down this road
I have met with many people
I have raised my voice in song
In love and in rage
I have sung of Western might
I have praised our folk in battle
I have always tried my best
And done it my own way

And now I stand here ready to take leave
I know my duty has come to its end
And yet I never would have had the courage
To be here if it weren’t for you, my friends

I have served my King and Queen
They in turn have given me honor
And each one I have loved
They’ve all been good to me
But my own love I must thank
For giving me the power
To stretch my wings in song
And set my voice free

And now I stand here ready to take leave
I know my duty has come to its end
And yet I never would have had the courage
To be here if it weren’t for you, my friends

I give thanks to all the folk
Who have honored me with friendship
And I thank you for the kindness
You have shown to me
I hope I served well as your Bard
I hope my words were inspiration
For it’s you that I must thank
For inspiring me

And now I stand here ready to take leave
I know my duty has come to its end
And yet I never would have had the courage
To be here if it weren’t for you, my friends

And now I stand here, I must take my leave
Although I’m sad it has come to an end
I will always treasure the memories
It’s time for a new song to begin

I have served my King and Queen
I have served the Western people
I have done for them my best
And never strayed
Through it all I remained true
To myself and to my music
Through adversity and doubt
I did it my own way.
