For Leon and Kiriana, Three Poems
by
Branwen ferch Emrys

Fall Coronet, AS XXX
Whereat Leon was defeated in the final round by Braun

I sought to win you a garland of roses,
Kiriana, my love.
I fought to win roses so white and so fair,
Roses to wear on your dark silken hair,
While the fiddler played and played on.

I fought for you wearing three swords on my arm,
Kiriana, my love.
But ermine swords aren't enough for a bear.
He bit me and drove me away from his lair,
While the fiddler played and played on.

You fought and you won for me ivy of silver,
Leon, Leon, my love.
You won for me ivy of silversmith art,
Ivy for me to wear close to my heart,
While the fiddler played and played on.

Fight for me wearing three swords on your arm,
Leon, Leon, my love.
All the bears in the kingdom can't keep us apart,
Not with ivy of silver to wear on my heart.
Let the fiddler play and play on.

Fall Coronet, AS XXXI
Whereat Leon defeated Uther in the final round

I sought to win you a garland of roses,
Kiriana, my love.
I fought to win ivy and roses so light,
To shine like my love as a beacon so bright,
While the circling ravens grew nigh.

I fought for you wearing three swords on my arm,
Kiriana, my love.
Three ermine swords showed their might 'gainst a hound,
His sharp teeth and talons are no longer found,
While the circling ravens flew high.

You fought and you won for me ivy and roses,
Leon, Leon, my love.
A lack of white roses could not make us part.
Your love and your courage long won you my heart,
While the circling ravens flew by.

Join with me wearing three swords on you arm,
Leon, Leon, my love.
The roses and ivy can't fill up my heart,
Since you've filled me with joy by the force of your art.
Bid the circling ravens good-bye.

Spring Investiture, AS XXXII
Whereat Leon and Kiriana step down from being Prince and Princess of the Mists

I fought and I won for you silver and roses,
Kiriana, my love.
Silver and roses to fill you like wine,
A small crown of silver to make your eyes shine,
Like my love for you which flows on.

I fought for you wearing three swords on my arm,
Kiriana, my love.
But ermine swords cannot match Father Time,
You must pass on the roses that mark you sublime,
Yet my love for you shall flow on.

You fought and you won for me silver and roses,
Leon, Leon, my love.
Wearing roses beside you delighted my heart,
Yet a lack of white roses can't keep us apart,
For my love for you will flow on.

Come with me wearing three swords on your arm,
Leon, Leon, my love.
I'll have different silver to wear in my hair,
But the shine in my eyes is from seeing you there,
And my love for you will flow on.
