I dreamed a dream of a by-gone age,
A kingdom of gold and emerald green,
A muse seduced me as I soundly slept,
She promised me joy and insights profound,
A love song she whispered in my ear,
She would be mine, but only for a year.
Oh Western Muse, you opened my eyes,
Poetry and stories came from my heart,
You authored the stories, you formed the words,
And I was her scribe and she was my life,
My mind was filled with tales of glory and lore,
She taught my heart to sing and my soul to soar.
Twelve months have passed and I bid her farewell,
So she might move on and cast a new spell.
