To Uther and Kára

Antonio Giordano da Sicilia
Beltane (May), A.S. XLV (2010)

The sun is setting in the West
As Beltane comes once more,
And winter passes into spring
As it has in years before
The time has come to leave your thrones
Tis a truth we shan’t ignore,
The Western crowns pass to Your heirs
As they have since days of yore.

The sun is setting in the West
As Beltane comes once more,
Dear King and Queen you served this land
As virtue’s guarantor,
For in your time you held this land
In your deep heart’s core,
We thank you for your service dear
To this kingdom You adore,

The sun is setting in the West
As Beltane comes once more,
A mighty king and warrior dread,
Traveling far from Western shores,
Your banner witnessed victories
At bloody Estrella War,
Your deeds recalled as history,
Recounted in tales and lore.

The sun is setting in the West
As Beltane comes once more,
Gracious Queen of roses fair
With hair of precious or,
Inspiring him who holds your heart,
You give him wings to soar,
Queen Kára is his one true love,
You’re his queen forevermore.

The sun is setting in the West
As Beltane comes once more,
And winter passes into spring
As it has in years before
The time has come to leave your thrones
Tis a truth we shan’t ignore
The Western crowns pass to Your heirs
As they have since days of yore.
