Oh gracious King and Queen the hour draws nigh,
The time has come to leave this royal stage,
Your reign set forth in history's fair book,
And in hind-sight, others will gauge your reign.
Responsibility, the Western Crown,
Is a mighty weight upon mortal heads,
Damocles knew well the point of the sword,
But only after he sat the king's throne,
Virtue's visage is found in mercy's face,
Whose quality befits every station,
Whether King or Queen, peer or common born,
Let good charity be wed to mercy.
And may peace reign in our kingdom blessed,
For conscience is a mighty weight indeed.
